I didn’t see a Lady Rawhide example here yet, but I guess it was because the editor, Topps Comics, didn’t last long. This Zorro female counterpart was a frequent offender; (her costume and usual poses to begin with) here according to the commentary she’s fighting the native woman but also said commentary look like a sex scene…And the scene really confused me, I first believed they were dancing.
Given the visuals and the narration, I’m assuming this was a lesbian sex scene repurposed as a superhero scene.
Like, “dammit,the publisher’s demanding the first issue sooner than we thought”
“we’ve got nothing to give him though!” “well, what about that thing you’ve been working on?”
“You mean my Lesbian Love In The Old West erotica?”
“Yeah, I’m sure we can tweak it a bit and it can easily be a dramatic battle to the death between two hardened warriors!”
Without the narration, I would just assume there was a glue accident at a tacky racist costume party, and there’s also an unrequited love thing going on.
I think I just figured out what picture I’m using for the next caption contest. >_>
