Anatomy as a reflection of sanity?

Anatomy as a reflection of sanity?

I’d like to state first off that I’m not an expert in anything at all, but I thought this might be an interesting study for this tumblr. These images are from a manga called Soul Eater (my favorite fight scene in the entire series actually) by the artist Ookubnt o Atsushi. The art is far from perfect but one thing I love about it is that the further from sanity a character gets the stranger their anatomy gets as well, and this is evident the further into the series you go.

So, is this a good excuse to ignore the human body to bring that sort of uncanny valley effect? or can it be done while still being correct? either way I thought It would be fun for people to consider ^^

I actually think it’s pretty neat that a less realistic art style is used to reflect a character moving away from reality.
