actiasknight: Damn girl, that is one

Damn girl, that is one scary waistline you got there. This is from one of the Christopher Hart books I still have from my anime days. There is some scary anatomy going in them that amateur artists are likely to not notice, which is extremely harmful to their development.

Oh and as an added bonus he seems to think main female characters have no business being plain normal looking girls.

He acts as if people need to be tricked into paying attention to superhero stories involving women.  “Well if she’s not hot, nobody’s going to notice!  It’s not like they’re here to read about the hero doing awesome things or anything.”  Plus, you know, there’s that whole story telling and writing thing that comics have, I think that tends to draw people to the story too.  Also, I think there’s a false dichotomy going on.  The choice isn’t between “plain” and the one body type and style he likes.  You can make a character look interesting and “glamorous” and not have her look like an Escher Girl.

Also the girl at the top frightens me.
