There’s a lot to like about the original picture. She’s athletic, she’s appropriately dressed for what she’s doing, I like her short hair and glasses…

But then that twist! Ugh! It ruins the whole picture. I took the twist out, and in doing so, I also reoriented her right leg so it looked more like it was supporting her.

I like the character design too, and I’ve heard good things about the manga.  That twist was just so weird, and didn’t even look like a twist as much as the lower half of her body just came from her hip.  Your take cleaned things up quite well. :)
