roxannameta: Hi there, sorry to submit

Hi there, sorry to submit again, but I just wanted to address someone’s concern about Psykitten’s costume from my recent submission:

“I’m not very big on the Iron Man costume. You can have a good costume without having a suit that pretty much has nothing to do with the original (seriously, this is no Iron Man costume, not even close) with just the excuse to show skin. I dislike it.”

It’s not an Iron Man costume, it’s based on the Ironette dancers costumes from the movie Iron Man 2, which you can see here:

It was made on short notice, so I modified the design to use the gold leggings and black boots we already owned. I totally understand concerns about skimp-ifying male costumes; if it means anything to anybody, I’m Aquaman in the Genderbent Justice League, and heck, we’ve even done interviews discussing the very issues you’ve touching on here. This is really important to me so I just wanted to make it clear. Thank you!

Thanks for clarifying for those that didn’t recognize that the costume was meant to be one of the dancers. :)   Personally, even if that was just a sexy Iron Man costume that somebody made, I wouldn’t be picking on it.  After all, it’s cosplay, and it’s about the person cosplaying having fun.

And yeah, your genderbent JLA cosplay makes it pretty clear that you don’t think “female superhero” means missing clothing. :)
