deadgoliath: I am really sorry but this

I am really sorry but this blog is full of Pin-up art, and on half of them people don’t even complain that the anatomy is wrong, but just that they are being “sexy”. Which is, once again, the point of pin-up girls. And even if the legs are too long for you or the breasts or butt too big and you don’t find it attractive, the artist does and telling him “don’t find these features attractive you sexist piece of shit” is kinda terrible. Then I am just talking about pin-up art.

I meant I don’t pick on pin-up art as in pure “omg they sexualized a woman” (also a number of those are involving superheroes, like Black Widow, Witchblade, Aphrodite IX, etc).   Also, I was referring to like old style “pin ups”, I consider video game/comic book stuff different, as it’s part of that culture. I thought my context was clear, but I guess not. xD  Now you know. :)  All of those you picked, my issues were with anatomy and broken poses (as well as how superheroines are being portrayed).  What OTHER people say, is not under my control.

I also doubt that the artists who are making money off of this are going to be upset that one person is blogging about art, some of which is theirs (especially since there’s tons of this criticism about sexism in video game/comic art online as it is), and if they are, well… I can’t do anything about that.  If you draw professionally and have your work published, you have to accept that you will be criticized as well as praised.  Besides, I’m not criticizing them as a person, just what I see on the page.  If they choose to take it personally, I can’t help that.

You don’t have to agree with me, and you can continue to think my point is “you sexist piece of shit” (no idea where you got that from, but like they can’t control what I think about their art, I can’t control what you think of my blog) but I am clarifying. :)

Honestly, there’s nothing personal about this blog, I only tag the artists for easy reference, I have no hatred for any of them, and I post whatever fits.

I think the INDUSTRY, the culture, and etc is sexist, whether an individual artist is a terrible person or not, not up to me to judge.
