Kinder Surprise CentaursHey, thanks again for your blog!
Kinder surprise, a chocolate egg with a toy inside, has a 38 year old esteemed history in Germany (although it is forbidden in the US). It was always well loved by kids and many collector-crazy adults.
But now Kinder Surprise got it in their head to have a pink-ified version just for the girls instead of the genderless old version of yore. If that wasn’t insulting (and controversial) enough, they included a collectible set of centaur-fearies:
(source: http://www.kinderueberraschung.de/winx/figuren/figuren.html ) These very slender and sexy figures from the “Winx Club” cartoon are, according to wikipedia, aimed at children from 5-12, btw. But as far as I can tell the original is not as horse-like as these figures here, which takes the insult on a whole new level.
Yeah, even for Winx Club, that’s very centaurlike. And Stella’s in an almost boobs and butt pose. Maybe they’re trying to ride the MLP wave?
