ME NEITHER THEY PROBABLY DIDN’T EVEN READ THE BOOK BEFORE DESIGNING THE COVER |DDDDDD  The ship behind Mara’s lightsaber is from the prequel trilogy, too.  (I forget what it was called… Obi-wan flew it in Ep II)

also she should turn and make out with luke instead

but maybe threaten to bisect him

just a little bit though

OH is it supposed to be a Dreadnought maybe?? Because the Katana fleet was in the second book iirc, and they were supposed to be Dreadnoughts, so maybe they took the design from that? But yeah def no droidekas those were Lucas’s creation for Ep I which came out… almost ten years after Heir to the Empire.

OH WAIT THAT SHIP THAT’S A… I WANT TO SAY IT’S AN A7 THOSE *DEFINITELY* WEREN’T A CONCEPT DESIGN. And they’re Jedi Starfighters, so there’s no way they should be on this coverksj;a cshdkf;aj pbfffffft I love us.

GAZE ON OUR NERDERY YE MIGHTY AND DESPAIR

thrawn is as foine-looking as ever though

I normally don’t reblog these things, or engage in conversations, but I just had to clear up everybody’s confusion.

BIG SPOILER WARNINGS:

This is the Japanese cover for “Survivor’s Quest”, not any book in the Thrawn Trilogy or the Hand of Thrawn Duology.  The Stormtroopers are the 501st legion, sent to assist Mara and Luke, the Droideka does show up at the end of the book, the central ship is Outbound Flight (the 6 Dreadnoughts connected to a central core) and the Jedi Starfighter is the ship left aboard Outbound Flight by Obi-Wan and Anakin that Mara and Luke take to intercept the Vagaari.  Thrawn is just there because the story is about the results of Thrawn’s actions in the past.  He doesn’t actually show up, but he’s still wicked cool.

I hope that clears it up!  It’s actually a cover that features everything in a book! (Except Thrawn)
