Escher Girls: Because somebody requested
Escher Girls: Because somebody requested this be re-bloggable
Given how strict Disney is on cracking down on people who infringe on their copyright (not to mention them frowning on people sexualizing their characters) I’m honestly baffled that Disney hasn’t tried to sue Campbell yet. He’s not only distributing sexualized (and badly drawn) images of Disney…Guy used Maleficient too… you could make a case for the mermaid and Cinderella (even if they use the same colors and even the same clothes) but how do you explain his use of sexy Maleficient…
Me and my friend were looking through J. Scott Campbell’s stuff yesterday, and most of the really egregious stuff (like Maleficient, which he even calls by name in his DA) is not anything he’s selling, therefore he can’t be sued for it (he DOES remind people to buy his calender in those pictures though, so I suppose there might be an iffy “advertising” aspect). But he seems to be very cognizant of where the line is and he changes just enough stuff to avoid crossing it in the work he sells (or draws for Zenescope).
