Help Fix Our Car

Help Fix Our Car

This is hard for me to write, because it wasn’t long ago I asked for help with my home, and asking for help is something I’ve never been good at, but my livelihood is on the line, so here goes…

I live in a family of five, and for a long time I was the only one of us who was working. This was the situation that led to me almost losing my home last year, and now I’m on the verge of losing my car. My family’s car has endured a lot of abuse over the years and we just haven’t had the money to fix it. Parts break down and I scrape together enough money to patch it up without actually fixing any of the underlying problems that keep it falling apart.

Yesterday my car’s brakes gave out completely, and as of this writing I only have $170 in my bank account, while the rest of my family is completely broke. I don’t know how I or my mother (who started back to work this week after missing three months) are going to get to work without transportation.

So with that in mind, I’ve started another fundraiser to help us get our Chevy back in one piece and on the road again. Our goal isn’t very high–only $1000. If 100 people gave just $10 apiece, we’d meet it with no trouble.

I feel kind of ashamed asking for help. You don’t have to give anything if you don’t want to, but at least consider reblogging this to spread the word.

Thank you,

Will “Filby” Staples

I don’t usually use Escher Girls for fundraising but this is a desperate situation for a long time and very dear friend of mine.

It’s really important he’s able to fix his car so he can support his family and himself.  If you can help out a little, or spread this around at least so others might be able to, please do so.  It would mean a lot to him, and to me.  Even a few dollars from enough people will be able to save his car and his job and family.
