Battle clothing for him and her

Battle clothing for him and her

I have been reading this blog for quite some time now, having my share of laughs but also moments of wtf.

Wtf is the keyword here, as beside the anatomical horrors that awaits the viewer, the drawn outfits are what I find especially …questionable. Worse: I am playing a game filled with wtf clothing for ages now….while you won’t see that much due to the models being that small - zooming in hurts gameplay, much, as you loose track of your units - but the concept art is being found very closely with the ingame models.

The game in question is Atlantica Online, a mix between a MMORPG and turn based strategy. You have your own hero and tons of other recruitable mercenairies to spice up your formation. Generally, with the exception of very few characters, all the models are the expectable thin type, with the male ones obviously being muscular. Almost every type of armor or clothing will result in much more naked skin on the female characters than the males. Plain old tales.

But some of the female mercenairies really hit the cheesecake. Considering that during gameplay, they will eventually get stronger and get a higher rank which adds gear to their equippment, some of the ladies still ..well, see for yourself.

The artwork above features the Lady Knight, her story based on that of Jeanne d'Arc. Below that is the in-game model, from base level to hero rank. Target practise, anyone?  There are enough paintings of Jeanne that show her in full armor, and I get that to play with. Heck, they even cut out spaces in a traditional Shinto shrine maiden outfit to give way to rule of sexy. Duh.

In comparison, have the exorcist. While he is guilty of showing of some more skin in his lower levels too, check out his gear in his later levels!

Though to stay fair, while many of the female characters have their curves shown off, not all of them are like that:

Sheriff Christine in her early years. Very wild west, huh?

At the moment, nexon, the provider, has a contest that allows the players to create their own mercenary, the best submission eventually making its way into the game. I tried with a class wearing a traditional scottish attire, though I doubt they’ll like the combination of a skirt and stockings on a man…..
