She does very much look like she's separating into two pieces to better flank her enemies like a robot or starship or something.

This cover has actually been on this blog before a long time ago, but your submission reminded me of it and got me to fix the old post up as well as a related one, and since it was so long ago, I think it works to post it again for more people to see. :3
