redraw: Mary Jane redux

In Marvel Comics #1000, J. Scott Campbell got to touch back on that infamous cover he did in 2009 and did so… by changing basically nothing at all. Here, MJ is lazing on the couch, eating chips, except somehow she’s able to balance a dip container on her completely flat stomach…. yeah.
I edited the image so that she at least has some organs and slightly toned-down her vacuum-sealed boobs. I think there are more issues with her pose that can only be fixed with more intensive re-drawing.
It all came to a head when I posted this on twitter and none other than the artist himself responded to my tweet with a gif of a man wiping his tears with money…. okay. cool. yyyyup. You’ll notice that of the responses I got on this post, nearly all the men who responded were dudebros getting mad at me for “disrespecting the artist” and the like, while all the non-men appreciated that she looked more natural as opposed to seemingly having a corset underneath that t-shirt.
(and yes, I might have gotten too hostile with my words when I posted this. But I am so, so tired of seeing men who insist on drawing women as pinups at all times keep getting jobs. Let me crack open a comic and not have to see a blow-up sex toy in place of a woman character, please.)
And you didn't even tag him. That sucks, I'm sorry.
I do like your changes though, and I totally get your frustration. She still looks conventionally attractive, it's weird to me that people would get upset about this, you were just making a visual point.
(Please don't jump into the tweet thread (which is also like half a year old now). I kept the link because it was in the submission and gives a source for what the submitted is saying. I dislike when creators namesearch/termsearch and respond to tweets not even tagging them and I didn't include the link to do the reverse and put somebody else on blast.)
