madmadcat: Welp, here we are again,

madmadcat:

Welp, here we are again, ya’ll. This cover was weird… to say the least.

Where do I start here? The notes were just a bite out of this sandwich of anatomy doom.

Let’s see if I can relist the issues I saw…

——-

Stunner:

The hell is going on with her head? Is that her ear or some horrible tumor attached to her skull. Maybe she doesn’t have an ear… (Mr. Artist dude.. You need to DEFINE your body parts.)

Chest is ¾, Waist is profile (Pick a direction before you start drawing, fellas.)

Wow, what beefy arms. Did we just toss a woman and a man in a blender?

Her fists are awfully large for a woman. Did the artist suddenly get a case of Gender ADD? Drawing a woman Drawing a woman Drawing a woman - OOH SHINEY! Oop, I’m drawing a man, I’m drawing a man…

Swayback

TORSOS, HOW DO THEY WORK?! (WHAT ARE ORGANS?)

——-

Even with all that, She’s still in better proportion than poor Spidey. The cover artist didn’t even TRY.

Spidey:

Body is out of proportion with the head

Head looks more animalistic than human. And suddenly Spidey is now part feline.

Chest is out of proportion with the rest of the body. It’s way too big for his body build.

Hell his body build is freaky too. His lower torso is… I don’t know.. It just doesn’t look right.

——-

Since today is a work day for me, I went with a quick and dirty figure redraw.

——-

Fixed the proportion issues on both figures. I gave Stunner less masculine arms and hands

Changed her pose to a ¾ shot throughout, thus fixing the legs.

Put some meat on her bones, which axed the swayback and gave her space for ORGANS! *ahem*… Sorry.

With spidey, I gave him a human head and changed the size of his chest to coincide with his body.

Had to size up the figures a bit to keep things in proportion with the shot because he’s got to be off the ground at least a little for that choke hold to work.

Adjusted the pose of the left hand (our right) slightly.

Very detailed breakdown. :)
