I don’t think it could be any more blatant that J. Scott Campbell drew a ‘regular’ woman and then drew scales on top of the thighs. Which is a pity, because it might otherwise be plausible that her internal organs relocated to her “tail”…

Alternatively, I see that in THIS incarnation of the legend, she sold her viscera to the sea-witch. Now that’s edgy!

I think I blogged this one already, but it doesn’t hurt to blog it again because it is pretty scary.  She is literally shaped like a Tetris block.
