Trying a Redraw. theglubbening: So I

Trying a Redraw.

So I figured I’d try to do a redraw of something, and thought that this post was sufficiently WTF to try. I’m not a pro, but I hope to be one day, so I thought this would be fun!

I started by expanding the pic a little:

Obviously the pose is really bad, and for some reason the left leg in the original picture seemed like the bottom was going into a forced press? I don’t know. I’m going to assume that the subject is Kaiki, and not talking about her, and also IDK what the pencil temple is but I’m not touching it.

Now’s when it’s more obvious. Other than her torso being malformed, and her spine broken in at least two places, her right elbow is snapped, and all of her weight is on her left arm and right leg. Not only does this loose power in her gesture, it fails to make her either attractive or empowered.

With this version of the pose, Kaiki has more power, I think, over whatever situation the pencils are in. It also has the effect (by turning her upper torso to increase her body’s balance over her left hand) of showing off the boobs a bit (which makes me wonder why the artist didn’t choose it, as B&B is so popular?)

I put Kaiki on the table or whatever in this one to lift her butt and spine up, for a “sexier” pose. It’s not really possible to get the same effect with her right arm, but I figured making it so she was moving her hair or framing her face would be okay too? I’m worried about how I placed her left hand with the spider-arch fingers, because even though it would lift her torso into position, it’s hard to maintain for too long, but whatever.

And finally (with my apologies for how weird it looks, I started to get bored so I rushed) preserving the general angle of the right forearm. It is possible to pull this pose fairly easily (I did for reference) but the best way to convey it is from a ¾ rear angle. The body turns a lot when getting the arm way out there.  It still looks really weird (I’m guessing it’s my sloppy forshortening) but instead of having a broken elbow, Kaiki just has a bad case of broad arm movement. Maybe she’s gearing up to bitch-slap whoever drew her originally, IDK.

*claps*  That was a very thorough breakdown, and I like how you went through all the possible poses, and the many many ways you could do this (including ways to still have that butt sticking out.)
