Redraw time!
So I’ve already done one mini-deconstruction of this bit of Horn porn tracing fuckery, but the more I looked at it the more it ticked me off, so I decided to do a full redraw.
In trying to keep the poses as close to the originals as possible while still making physical, non-porn sense, the major issue I dealt with was trying to make both characters stand up. The poses as originally drawn only make sense lying down or with another person there for support and balance.
While Scarlett looks more or less okay, in the original she can’t really support her own weight on that leg. I changed the tilt and rotation of her pelvis into something more in line with a high side kick. I also gave her back her the bones of her pubic arch, as Horn seems to have erased them in either an attempt to hide the fact that he was tracing for porn or in keeping with the comics trend of everyone having concave crotches.
Elektra also got a major pelvis re-work. It took a couple of tries (and a few times dropping it like it was hot in front of a mirror) to get a reasonable pose where she looked like she was dropping down and to the side to duck a kick instead of just falling over backward. I went ahead and did the initial sketch with the full bodies to make sure that the leg positioning made sense all the way down to the feet and give both women a sense of solidness to their stance.

As for the details final drawing, after a few tries I gave up on Scarlett’s crossbow. Pretend it’s there. Weapons aren’t my strong suit, and it doesn’t make sense there in her left hand, anyway (if she’s a leftie then why is the holster for it on her right hip?). Made the curl of her right fist tighter to give more power to her defensive block (probably should have put the cross-bow there, but whatever), and switched out the yellow thong part of her costume for something in a more bikini cut, to reduce the need for mid-battle wedgie de-lodging.
Some minor changes to Elektra’s costume as well. Those ribbon things might look cool but I have no goddamn idea just how they’re supposed to stay on. Turned the forearm ribbons into a more boxing-style handwrap, and the bands on her upper arms and thighs into tattoos of some sort (I’m only generally familiar with her character so for now they’re scribbly and generic, since I don’t know enough to give her something meaningful to her backstory). And I gave her back the back flap of her costume, since Horn seems to have forgotten it in his drawing, leaving her to fight Scarlett completely bare-assed.
Oh, and I got rid of the porn faces, because dude. What the fuck.
I love what you did with the redraw, where Scarlett’s leg is actually connecting with Elektra’s head. I find a lot of battle scenes that end up on Escher Girls have two women who don’t seem to actually be trying to hit each other.
